The condition of the existing asphalt and drainage is taken into consideration while taking note of the drive lanes and service areas which may be very deteriorated unlike employee parking areas, which may not be as deteriorated.

Repairs could involve patching, overlaying existing pavement, or completely removing and replacing the pavement.

Each customer has their own wants and needs for their specific paving project.  Traditionally, thicker asphalt is used for heavy-duty areas, where as lighter traffic areas such as parking areas, require only the minimal depth requirements.

Another consideration with asphalt failure is moisture in the sub-base. The solution to this problem is under drains which help channel water to alleviate this problem.
